Virtual machines cant reach router from host.
I am running a vm and am able to reach the 192.168.1.1 from it.
however, I am unable to reach the same screen from my host.
Is there anyone that could enlighten me as to why this is not posssible. It is part of a larger problem that I am trying to solve.
Both are able to ping the default gateway ok.

Default gateway is the router.

Re: Virtual machines cant reach router from host.
The question was because the post appears to be inconsistent:
I am running a vm and am able to reach the 192.168.1.1 from it.
however, I am unable to reach the same screen from my host.
and
Both are able to ping the default gateway ok.
I wanted to confirm that the default gateway and 192.168.1.1 are the same IP address. If the gateway is 192.168.1.1, then both ost and VM can 'ping' 192.168.1.1 but only the vm can access the web page at 192.168.1.1.
That would lead me to suspect a problem with the VM, not a problem with the router.
