WIFI 6 with RBK50
Will the current HW of RBK50 supports the Wifi-6 update that will happen end of the year, or there will be a new HW?

Re: WIFI 6 with RBK50
No way, much to different and much more enhanced technology and chipsets required for both the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands.
If we are lucky we might see WPA-3.

Hi @HannoosH
It will be a different hardware. It is expected to be available in the second half of 2019.
And it might be wise to wait a bit, for bugs to be squished, before shelling out any cash.
Just another user with a set of boilerplate macros.

And it's worth checking the fine print - both Wi-Fi 6 platforms Netgear has deployed on the RAX80 (AX8) and the RAX120 (AX12) currently don't fully comply with the formal specs as of writing.

No Wi-Fi 6 on the RBK50 - new hardware generation is required.

Re: WIFI 6 with RBK50
The Wi-FI 6 Orbi had been announced earlier this year, but are not available in the stores yet. Should not be a long wait anymore.

Re: WIFI 6 with RBK50
Expect to see the Wi-Fi 6 Orbi on closed Beta these days, unless some show stoppers show up it should not be much more than a few weeks.
