I have a system with an RBR50, 2 RBS50s, and 1 RBW30.
When I use the router Web UI to check for firmware updates, it first attempts to download new firmware for the RBW30 and then says "Update Failed".
When I manually download the current RBW30 firmware from Netgear and go directly to the RBW30 and attempt to update the firmware, the UI there says it's already running the current version. (see attached screenshots)
Side note: I see there's an even newer version of the RBR50/RBS50 firmware (2.7.0.70), but it's not being offered to me via the Web UI update function.

Then no need to update it then. v4 is the most current version.

Re: Web UI says RBW30 Update Failed, but there is no update available.
I should have mentioned that due to the RBW30 having a status of "Update Failed" I was unable to update my other Orbi units without unplugging the RBW30. This is certainly not a good situation.

Version 2.7.0.70 is actully the newest firmware available for the RBR50 router and RBS50 satellite. You would have to manually download it and install it. If you decide to update, make sure you update the satellites first, then the router.

Re: Web UI says RBW30 Update Failed, but there is no update available.
Exact same configuration and issue with the RBW30 Update Failed here. I was able to update my RBR50 and RBS50 by unplugging my RBW30, but has there been a resolution to the Update Failed issue on that satellite yet? Or, is Firmware 2.5.0.4 for the RBW30 the latest, therefore nothing to fix? Thanks!

Re: Web UI says RBW30 Update Failed, but there is no update available.
V4 is the latest for the RBW. No need for any update. I presume the update services are incorrectly reporting this for the RBW. Should be No Update Available. Maybe a forum moderator and check on this.

Re: Web UI says RBW30 Update Failed, but there is no update available.
Thank you very much for confirming. Would be nice if Netgear fixed this, though. Makes updating the firmware on the router and other sats a bit of a PITA.
Thanks!

Re: Web UI says RBW30 Update Failed, but there is no update available.
Update still fails when I try to perform an automatic update through the router UI. Can you please remind me of the method to update the RBW30 manually, if that is what you are saying we need to do?
Thank you.

Re: Web UI says RBW30 Update Failed, but there is no update available.
Do you have access to the RBWs web page? Look for the IP address on the RBRs connected devices page. Use the IP address given to the RBW to access it's web page. Log in will be same as RBR.

Re: Web UI says RBW30 Update Failed, but there is no update available.
good thought, except the RBW30 does not accept the password I use to gain access to my RBR50. I even try the default password, and no joy. One hurdle after another. Any thoughts on how to reset the RBW30 password or why it does not accept the password from my RBR50?
Thanks!

Re: Web UI says RBW30 Update Failed, but there is no update available.
Check the user manual for password defaults...
Try a factory reset with the RBW and re-sync it to see if it will connect and the the admin and PW from the RBS50...I believe it should

Re: Web UI says RBW30 Update Failed, but there is no update available.
So, I have reset it and resynced it multiple times, still will not accept the RBR50 login credentials. I am a little skeptical of the reset, tbh. When the RBW shows up in my connected devices again, it still shows up with the label 'RBW30-Basement'...something I had renamed it to. If it were a true reset, shouldn't it lose that label?
Not sure what to do at this point. Can't get firmware update access to my RBW30...

Re: Web UI says RBW30 Update Failed, but there is no update available.
Did you remove it from the RBR after resetting it?
Ya, the reset should clear things however if it resynce with the RBR the RBR may hand off the same config again...

Re: Web UI says RBW30 Update Failed, but there is no update available.
The file type that is included in that zip file is a .chk file. The update option in the GUI wants a .img file.

Re: Web UI says RBW30 Update Failed, but there is no update available.
I see all prior versions of FW builds are all .chk
What browser are you using?
Try IE11, Edge or Firefox...

Re: Web UI says RBW30 Update Failed, but there is no update available.
Pretty sure the RBW takes .chk files, and the RBR and RBS take .img files. Maybe you're trying to upload to the wrong unit? Are you connecting directly to the RBW's IP address?
