rbk23 firmware update
However,
Just purchased a new RBK23 Orbi which came with FW v2.2.1.210.
According to the release notes for any new FW (e.g., https://kb.netgear.com/000061404/RBR20-RBS20-Firmware-Version-2-3-5-36-Hot-Fix ) :
"Note:
If your firmware version is 2.2.1.210 or lower, you cannot update the firmware directly to v2.3 or higher. You must first update the firmware to v2.2.1.212 using the manual firmware update feature in the router web interface. After updating the firmware to v2.2.1.212, your Orbi router reboots, and then you can update to higher versions."
However, v2.2.1.212 is NOT available for download - at least not for the RBR20 series - not even in "Previous versions" expanded list.
Please advice best solution to upgrade FW.
Thanks

Re: rbk23 firmware update
Try the 2.3.0.28 version. make sure to update the satellites first.
You can also try using the auto update function.

Re: rbk23 firmware update
If you just purchased the RBK23, you should have the initial Netgear support contract active, i forget how long it is but i know it isn't very long, perhaps a year, maybe 6months... Anyway, reach out to them and they should be able to help you.
If you dont have an active contract and you can't return it, you only have 1 option... go for broke and give it a shot. You can try to upgrade to 2.3.0.28 as there are not listed requirements to be at a certain level prior to that upgrade. IF successfull, go to the lastest version.
Good Luck,

Re: rbk23 firmware update
Everything I have read indicates that Netgear provides "Complimentary support" for 90 days with a new purchase. (The hardware warranty is 1 year.) This sounds like an ideal time to take them up on it and report what happens. I believe that support can be reached from the Netgear product registration page. Once the product is registered, there is a link to reach support. (Alas, my Orbi was nearly a year old before I had any reason to want support, so I cannot speak from personal experience.)

Re: rbk23 firmware update
Use v210 to get the RBR up to date:
https://www.netgear.com/support/product/RBR20.aspx#RBR20%20Firmware%20Version%202.2.1.210
You can apply the most resent version of FW to the RBS first to get it going. You don't have to apply v210 to the RBS. Just go directly to the latest version.
