How to use the ethernet port on orbi satellite of RBK753S-100NAS

I have the system RBK753S-100NAS just set up with one route (RBR750) and two satellites. The three are connected wirelessly with good connection. I connect a NAS on one of the satellite through its ethernet port, but cannot see it on the network. I searched online but cannot find clear information how to use the ethernet port on the Satellite. It seems like that in order to use the ethernet port on the satellite, the satellite has to be connect to the route by wire. is it correct? Thanks.

Ok, just checking.

Please remove any static IP address configurations on the NAS and set Dynamic or Auto obtain IP address configuration on the NAS.

Please visit and post about this over in the Orbi AX forum:

The RBS can be synce wirelessly or by wired to the RBR.

You can connect other wire devices to the back of the RBS as well.

Thank you.

No, this is definitely not correct.

Does the Orbi web interface Attached Devices screen not show the NAS as connected?

I believe the power is referencing the RBS model# which includes a NG-NAS nominclature that refers to a marketing region that differs from NAS being Network Access Storage.

Yes, I cannot see the NAS on the Netgear home page of the router, neither of the satellite. Thanks.

Can you see the NAS unit when it's connected to the RBR?

Seen others post about having the NAS connected to the RBS and they can't see it. Mines not connected to the RBS, rather behind the RBR.

Re: How to use the ethernet port on orbi satellite of RBK753S-100NAS

I moved to the route and I can see it now. But it is not stable, sometimes disappeared then appeared again. One thing I noticed is its IP address: 10.0.0.200, not the one 192.168.1.x. Is this a problem? How do I force it to change the IP address to 192.168.1.x? Thanks.

Re: How to use the ethernet port on orbi satellite of RBK753S-100NAS

Yes.

Means that your RBR detects a router up stream that also uses 192.168.1.1.

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too? This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
https://kb.netgear.com/30187/How-to-fix-issues-with-Double-NAT
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop

I don't have two routers. The provider is Xfinity and the cable modem is Motorola MB8600. The Netgear Orbi home router connect directly to the Motorola Modem. I think the NAS has the assigned IP address with the previous router. But it's long time ago, I cannot remember. Thanks.
