I see your on Xfinity? If so, then Ya the CM2000 would be a good match for the 8 or 9 series. Contact the ISP first to ensure it's supported on there network.

I have two questions hope you can answer:
On Orbi 960 how can I test the unit to see if the 6G is working?
Should I be able to see the 6G network as one of the options available on IPhone once turned on?

Depends on if you have a 6Ghz supporting device. Current iPhones don't support 6Ghz I believe. I believe some newer Android phones do.
PCs you need a Intel AX210 supporting PCI adapter installed. I have one on my PC. works great.
If you set the 6Ghz SSID to something unique, and your device supports 6Ghz frequencies, you'll see the SSID name.
