RBR750 only 650 instead of 1gig Download speed
Hello
I just bought a Orbi Mesh System
For some reason I only get on the Orbi App only max 650 download speed
upload is fine with 950
Not sure if there is a setting that is wrong or if the router is bad
I had a google wifi mesh and a nighthawk mesh before
Both gave me on their app a download speed of nearly 1gig
Anyone got any idea why the Orbi Router is performing so bad in comparison to the nighthawk and google ?
Thanks

Measured how?
Wifi speeds depend on the wifi client more than the router and your Internet connection.

Hey Michael
I used the Orbi App and before the nighthawk app.
I also used the speedtest app on my phone
But of course on the speedtest app i get even worse download speed.
I got a AT&T Fiber 1gig plan

Yup. As expected.
What's the firmware on the RBR750?
I assume that you haven't done things like enable QoS, a pointless exercise with 1 gig Internet. That eats processor power on the router, as does traffic metering.

Firmware is V4.6.3.7
And no I didnt do anything
Just followed the installation guide.
Honestly im not the brightest when it comes to Networkand network settings.
Guess I only can check on QoS when connected with my Laptop to the Router right ?

Re: RBR750 only 650 instead of 1gig Download speed
Netgear has set up a community forum specifically for the Orbi AX (WiFi 6) products. Most of the people who watch that forum are more likely to have experience with Orbi AX and know how to work it better than those of us who follow this "general Orbi" forum. Might be more likely to find someone who has a solution if the question is posted there:
https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi-AX/bd-p/en-home-orbi-ax
Thank you.

Re: RBR750 only 650 instead of 1gig Download speed
There is a known problem on v4 and using Orbi app and onboard speed test giving inaccurate results.
Use a wired PC conencted to the RBR and Ooklas installable speed test app and check speed there to compare.
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
