RBR850 - Disconnecting - Will moving router help?

have the RBR850 with 1 RBS850.  I'm having the same disconnecting issues I've read about in this forum.  Tech support is in contact with me regarding the issue as I am not very tech savy and reading most of the comments are like a different language to me Smiley Happy

So, this question, I have the router in my finished basement (poured concrete foundation) against the wall of the house and the satellite is on the main floor of the house (1 story).  Would moving the router to the main living area and placing the satellite in the basement help the situation overall?  I've always had previous routers in the basement but the house setup has changed recently.

Currently I am working from home in the basement and we have added a security system with 7 cameras and video doorbell (3 outdoor cameras, 4 interior).

Thank you all!

YES. FYI, basments are not recommended places for wifi routers. Concrete and steel will prohibit good signal travel and performance. Main or 2nd floor is recommended for the base Wifi Router.

30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS📡 to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.

If you're still having disconnection issues after relocating your Orbi, try setting your CTS/RTS Threshold to 2347 to maximize compatibility with older wireless devices:

  1. Go to the web admin portal at http://orbilogin.com/
  2. Click to the Advanced tab, Advanced left menu, Wireless Settings
  3. Set CTS/RTS Threshold to 2347 for both 2.4hz and 5Ghz networks
  4. Press Apply

See if that helps.  If problems still persist, next try disabling AX mode for the 2.4Ghz band:

  1. Go to http://orbilogin.com/
  2. Click to hte Advanced tab, Setup left menu, Wireless Setup
  3. Uncheck "Enable 2.4G" under the top Enable AX section
  4. Press Apply
