Regular Guest WiFi Drops
I just purchased RBR750 w/ 1 RBS750. Ran into the exact issue with guest WiFi. I manually updated the firmware to V4.6.8.5_2.1.9 but the issue is still ongoing with guest network only.
I have tried...

I have monitored since last post. I have 4.6.9.11 firmware. Seems more prone on Android type devices. Kindle fire 10 every few hours. Android phones more than iPhone no pattern. IOT devices are stable. Parental Control Off. Armor On but tried turning off, no change.
- Are also the satellites on v4.6.9.11?
- Do you have the same security settings in the guest network as the main network (e.g. WPA2-PSK,...)?

Only have one satellite and yes it is same firmware. Also same security as primary WiFi WPA2-Personal. Used the same setup for guest network on the TP-LINK Archer AX6000 no issues just mention far comparison sake. Switched to NG chasing extended range and wanted to try a different brand and I think netgear is us based. If there is such a thing for consumer based network gear
- ekhalilSep 19, 2022MasterI really doubt the issue is with the guest network. Do you mean that when you move a device that has issues on the guest network to the main network it will work properly?
What is the make and model of the ISP modem/router to which Orbi is connected please?
Do you have the issues with devices that are connected to the satellite or to the router or both?- Rob1988Sep 20, 2022AspirantYes, that is exactly the behavior I have seen. Does not matter if connected to router or satellite. My guests kept complaining about disconnects. So I
switched over to the guest network for my android phone I get disconnects. Wife tried on iPhone and same thing. I moved ours back to primary and no disconnects. The modem is from ISP and is a Hitron Docsis 3.1 Voice Internet Cable Modem model E31N2V1. Same modem I have been using before switching to NG.- ekhalilSep 20, 2022Master
Yes, the problem looks very wierd. The only explanation I have is data corruption of some sort. I would suggest to factory reset the router and satellites. If you don't have IP address reservations set up then reset should go very fast. 🙂
Leave the guest network activation to the very last step.
