I see...
Ok, so to help with getting devices connected to the RBS instead of the RBR, try turning down the power output of the RBRs wifi radios from 100% to 50% and see if this changes anything. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings

I will do so. Is it better - speed or otherwise - to have a device connected to an RBS instead of the RBR?

Re: WiFi internet drops when I plug ethernet into RBS850
Users choise. Speeds may or may not be quite the same as when your connected at the RBR which is the source. RBS there is some processing going from the connecting device thru the RBS's wifi to reach the RBRs wifi as well. Nature of the beast and always will be.
