Im having issues with rebooting as well
Im having issues with rebooting as well. When I first purchased this in December 2023, the router was rebooting every hour. I reached out to the community here and got some help from a Senior Wirel...

Good afternooon-
I only was ohysically present for only 1 reboot. Im assuming I can confirm this through a LOG feature in the router? Is there some walkthrough that will show me how to do this?
AS before the latest update to the firmware, the ligh blinks white when it’s rebooting. I think Im good with the CAT6s cable but I’ll confirm. I have a modem that I use for my 1gb SPectrum Internet. I’ll have to verify the modem make and model tonight.
This is the same setup I used with my Orbi 850 and the prior 2 generations

Look for uptime here:
Or type router IP address/debug.htm into a browser:

Ok along with the info I provided in my prior post:
I looked at the STATISTICS and as of right now, my uptime is 34 minutes so it must have just rebooted. So it looks like its rebooting once a day like before.
I use Spectrum Internet. It has a bi SPECTRUM on the side of the modem and I didnt see anything else otehr than that to indicate the maker. I did have a Model # ET2251. Underneath that it shows "DOCSIS 3.1 eMTA
Hope this helps

Ok. Sounds like there is a issue on the RBR side even with updated FW.
Any chance you can access the modems config page to see the uptime on it? Just curious if uptime is same or longer. I would presume longer fi the modem hasn't done anything.
Thats a Hitron branded modem which has a 2.5Gb WAN Port.
Cat cable CAT6A STP? Just confirming cable is STP and not UTP...

THis is what I see in the SHOW STATICTICS option on the router. I dont see where to scroll down to see the prior UPTIMES
- FURRYe38Feb 02, 2024Guru - Experienced User
Ok that's fine. Seems like the WAN port was reset along with LAN but wireless is still up and running and survived the reboot. Interesting. 🤔

AS soon as I can people take a break from working, I will look at the ethernet cable that is connected from the modem to the router. Im assuming there will be writing on the cable. If I see Cat6a somehwere on the cable, I should be good right? Or is there something else I should be looking for?
- FURRYe38Feb 02, 2024Guru - Experienced User
Yes CAT6A and STP and there should be a metal surrond around the ends of the plugs
- JesseDiazFeb 03, 2024Guide
Ah the metal surrounding will help identify it, Ill let you know as soon as I go check it

Are you RBS ethernet connected or wireless?
If ethernet connected, direct connected to the RBR or is there a LAN switch in between the RBR and RBS? If so, Brand and model please...
- JesseDiazFeb 04, 2024Guide
Hi again-
They are connected via ethernet. I went through the question on switches with Netgear but I have a Netgear GS752TPV2. I made sure all GREEN features were disabled along with one other thing....I cant recall what it was but it had something for loop security? But I made sure that was disabled as well
- FURRYe38Feb 04, 2024Guru - Experienced User
Please disconnect the RBS from the switch and let them wirelessly connect if thats possible. Then observe the system.
- JesseDiazFeb 04, 2024GuideOk. Specifically observe if it continues to reboot?
- FURRYe38Feb 04, 2024Guru - Experienced User
Yes please.
- JesseDiazFeb 06, 2024Guide
Update: at 9pm PST, I took the 2 RBSs off of Ethernet and had the backhaul on the wireless configuration. Since then, the router has rebooted 2 times with a current uptime of 5 hours. So that didnt seem to work. I just ended up ordering a new CAT6a STP and should receive it withing the next 2 hours. Ill replace that and see what that does.......
- JesseDiazFeb 06, 2024Guide
Update #2 - Got the new cat6a STP cable. Installed. Turned off modem and router for 2 minutes. Powered on modem and waited until connection was established. Then powered on router. Have internet os now Ill wait to see if it reboots.
RBSs are still on wireless backhaul

👍
- JesseDiazFeb 06, 2024GuideLet’s assume this works and the reboots stop. Should I be using the same cables on my RBSs?
- FURRYe38Feb 06, 2024Guru - Experienced User
Yes. STP cabling is recommended if your using the highspeed ports on the RBS.
For ports that don't use the highspeed connection, like 1Gb, then UTP cabling can be used.

Could you please post the CPU, Memory usage and system uptime from the RBR and RBS IP address/debug.htm web page please?
- TOPS119Feb 06, 2024LuminarySince your on the topic of cabling I only get 250mbps internet from my provider am I required to use a cat 6a cable or can a cat 5 be used in this case ? Also is it anything above cat 5 like a cat 7 or cat 8 or is it specific to 6A ?
- FURRYe38Feb 06, 2024Guru - Experienced User
For best operation, performance and avoiding any problems on the cable lines, CAT6A STP or anything STP is recommended.
- JesseDiazFeb 06, 2024GuideAs soon as I get home , I can post the screenshot. Should I connect the RBSs back on the Ethernet back haul with the new Cat6a STP cables?
- FURRYe38Feb 06, 2024Guru - Experienced User
Lets make sure the RBR hasn't rebooted with the RBS being wirelessly connected first. Can you give it 2-3 days of observation? IF no reboot is seen, then reconnect the RBS via ethernet using the STP cabling.
- JesseDiazFeb 06, 2024Guide
Yep-Sounds like a solid plan. Below is the screenshot you requested. I dont want to jinx it but this is the most uptime Ive had since I purchased the router. I also see my HOMEKIT devices responding now. As a reminder, my devices were functioning only 50% of the time since I purchased the router. AS of the current uptime of 21 hours, the devices have been working without fail....

Ok looks good. Lets give this a couple of days of up time with the RBS wirelessly connected. IF good at 3 days, try reconnecting the RBS via ethernet. Use CAT STP cabling to connect them.
- JesseDiazFeb 09, 2024Guide
Well it went good for almost 3 days but looking at the log, it robooted
and I was pulling this info, it rebooted again
