Orbi 870 with CenturyLink Fiber and VLAN 201 tagging

I just purchased and installed Orbi 870 (router + 1 satellite).  Is my 3rd Orbi system.

I live in Seattle and have Centurylink 1Gbps fiber.  CenturyLink does VLAN 201 tagging.

The Orbi has a VLAN tagging setup page, but couldn't get it to work - Orbi fails PPPOE connection.  Attached is the VLAN setup page screen capture.

I have the Orbi 870 working right now with a separate Netgear wired router between the ONT and 872 WAN port - this separate router is setup just to remove the VLAN 201 tagging.

Ideally I would like to remove this seperate router, since is just another possible failure point.

Anyone know how to setup the Orbi 870 VLAN page/options to work with CenturyLink?

After some experimenting I learned.

1) have to select VLAN tag group (not by bridge group), add VLAN 201, select all wired and wireless ports

2) can't just save the changes, must also power cycle the router

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended. 

Are there any VLAN configurations under the Advanced Tab/Setup/Internet at all?

What does Netgear support say about installing the 870 system on CenturyLink?

That is sort of the point of providing 90 days of 'complimentary support' with purchase of a new system.

Glad you got it working. And thanks for letting us know it works. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.
