Unfortunately the latest firmware (v9.10.4.1) doesn't solve the issue on Pixel 8 Pro

Unfortunately the latest firmware (v9.10.4.1) doesn't solve the issue on Pixel 8 Pro. Everytime I move around the house, I need to disconnect from wifi and reconnect manually if I want Internet to work.
At the price of both the Orbi 970 and the Pixel 8 Pro, customers expect a working solution for what seems like a pretty basic functionality (wifi)...

Same here. I thought the new firmware upgrade would help with the Google pixel 8 and the orbi 970 and 971 but I have to manually reconnect when walking around the house. I also started a continual ping on my dell xps13 with WiFi 6e and with cmd 8.8.8.8 -t and every 20 pings the request would time out and slowly 40 ms becomes 150ms and then time out. The internet on my laptop is much more stable when connected with ethernet. I may ask them to replace the router just to see if maybe it is faulty hardware.

its not just an issue with orbi. Its an issue with the wifi 7. Its not even ratified yet as a standard and its caused issues as device makers don't want to update their own devices until ratification. I've got a edge+ 2023 with wifi 7 built in that I can't get updated to work properly. A bit of a joke

Hi @Marc7694 ,

Latest firmware helps with stability on the network. Before, when Pixel 8 connected to the network, it would crash the network. Now it will not. However, there is still connectivity issues as noted here: Re: I am having the worst disconnection problems i... - NETGEAR Communities

There is already solutions/fixes ready but have not been released to public yet due to ongoing quality assurance testing. If you will like to test this firmware early please send me a message directly.

Any updates on when the new firmware will be released? This problem has been on going for couple of months already and whith no clear visibility on when Pixel8 phone will be able to have a stable wifi connection.

This is very frustrating to say the least to have this end user experience after paying $2,700 for a wifi solution, not having a smartphone stay connected to the router makes me wonder if Netgear even tested their solution before releasing to the public.

Yeah for the price they charge on these devices you would have thought it would work better than this. It’s like saying we have a premium device hence our prices have to be high, when you buy the device it’s like we are all test Dummies nothing works like should smh

No I did not see that post. Thanks for sharing.

I just updated the firmware on router/satellites, fingers crossed this will solve the problem of internet disconnect on Pixel 8.

Re: Unfortunately the latest firmware (v9.10.4.1) doesn't solve the issue on Pixel 8 Pro

I was really hoping this firmware upgrade will solve my problem but unfortunately it's not solving the problem with Pixel 8.
The phone stays on the Wi-Fi network but the Internet connection drops. This issue is only happening with my Pixel 8 Pro, anything other devices (non wifi 7 compatible) in the house are working fine.
If this is the firmware Netgear is going to release to fix that bug, then there is more testing needed on their part.
I'm so frustrated with Netgear not testing their products and upgrade and leaving it up to their customers to test. Again at the price of their products this is a scam!

Re: Unfortunately the latest firmware (v9.10.4.1) doesn't solve the issue on Pixel 8 Pro

There are known issues with Pixel 8 phones that NG is already aware of. Also this is in part some responsibility on Google/Pixel as well as they play a roll in ensuring there products work with the WiFi spec as well. There are already reports that there are some Mfr having problems with there WiFi 7 devices not working with WiFi7 router platforms. I believe Motorola is one of them. So lets not lump all the blame on NG. NG is working with these mfrs as well to get there products working NG products. Something you should also make contact with Google to let them know what is happening as well. I presume they may already know. This issue is two fold in that both Google and NG are actively working to get fixed. This is all new tech and new stuff to work with and presume there are complexitiies that are causing problems on both sides.

If you feel that the Orbi system is not working for you, then I reommend that you return the unit and find something else that goes. Otherwise, you'll need to be patient while Google and NG work to get this fixed.

Re: Unfortunately the latest firmware (v9.10.4.1) doesn't solve the issue on Pixel 8 Pro

An update just a couple of months later. I am on firmware V9.12.2.1_1.2.10 (European version) and I also get disconnects on my Pixel 8. Once a day the Pixel 8 shows that Wifi is connected but actually there is no connection. I have to disable and enable wifi again on the pixel phone to get it working again.

Is there a way to disable wifi 7 on the Orbi? I know putting the the phone in the 2,4Ghz IoT would work, but I would like to at lease use 5 Ghz.
