WAN port needs to use VLAN 35 for all traffic going in and out.
The menu for configuring VLAN tagging is a little unclear, I only need to tag traffic going in/out from the WAN connection, but I can't see if that's the default function or if it's adding that taggin...

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.
How many RBS are deployed?
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router 📡 and satellite(s)🛰️? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR 📡 and RBS 🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wired or wirelessly connected.

oes this happen with the RBS turned OFF?
Does this happen with both wireless and wired devices?
What channel configurations are currently set on the router?
Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.
Be sure to disable any MAC Address randomizers on phones and pads while at home:

Latest available firmware.
The internet connection works 100% fine for wired clients as far as I can tell - I haven't found/noticed any issues with wired clients. Also works perfectly fine with my old router system (Asus RT-AC86U).
The main unit and two satellites. Brick/wood frame home. About 2500sq.ft, but it's a double or side split, meaning there's three floors of house. I can do up a diagram later when I'm home. I recently tried wiring all the satellites and if anything it seems to have made the problem worse. The satellites are needed for full coverage, as there are some dead zones without them.
Coverage from the base unit doesn't reach to the problem areas so it isn't a good test. Some clients have a really tough time connecting at all.
Channels are 11 & 40.
Mac addresses aren't obfuscated and most IPs are static from the DHCP server.

Is there a FW version number?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
For that size of home, the RBR and just 1 RBS would be needed. I have a 5k sq ft home and can get away with one RBS and plenty of wifi coverage. Lets turn OFF one of the RBS for now.
Testing with the RBR is just a quick temporary test to see if issues are still on going with just the RBR running.
Yes if you can draw up a floor diagram and mark where the RBR and RBS are located.
How were the RBS ethernet connected when you had them connected? Directly behind the RBR or was there a LAN patch panel or LAN switch in between? https://kb.netgear.com/000051205/What-is-Ethernet-backhaul-and-how-do-I-set-it-up-on-my-Orbi-WiFi-System 📡 🛰️
What CAT# LAN cable was used? CAT6A STP is recommended and something I use to ensure good connections from the RBR to the RBS.
- lkroekerOct 24, 2024AspirantIt's set to auto update, so it's the latest version. It doesn't matter. They'll never fix it. I might try it at some point in the future when someone who cares about things working builds custom firmware for it...
I switched back to a random assortment of networking equipment. Asus router, and two DLink routers set up as APs. There are so many features and best practices that these have that for some reason Netgear has chosen to ignore.
The big ones:
+Non-overlapping channels for each AP
+The ability to disable the wireless backhaul when wired...
+Control over channel width (forcing 20MHz for 2.4GHz bands)
Had this new/old setup running for a few days, and I haven't had any connectivity issues with any of the devices on the network.
At this point it's either just broken software or the hardware is defective. - FURRYe38Oct 25, 2024Guru - Experienced User
You'll need to get in contact with NG support and open up a support ticket and let them know about this since you don't seem to want to give feedback here:
https://my.netgear.com/support/contact.aspx
https://www.netgear.com/support/contact.aspx
Then clicking on "Get answers about NETGEAR products before I buy" then clicking on "Networking for Home" then "Chat with us".Or return the system and find something that works for you.
Good Luck.
