Orbi CBR40 VS Nighthawk CM1000

So I just checked my Xfinity account and saw that I have a 1000 mbps plan. I currently have the Nighthawk CM1000 modem with the ORBI AC3000 mesh system. Should I buy the ORBI CBR40 router? Is it compatible with all ORBI satellite add ons? I ask because although the Nighthawk says 1000 max download, doesn't mean it will do the max. Atleast with the CBR40, it has a 2.2 GBS max download which should give me more of a max speed?
Thanks

I think you're getting things confused.
the CM1000 is gigabit download rated modem. its a docsis 3.1 device.
The cbr40 is only rated at 500mbps per comcast for the modem aspect. its docsis 3.0. It'd be a downgrade to go from the CM1000 to the cbr40 in terms of modem.
the 2200 mbps the the cbr40 refers to is the aggregation of all its wifi speeds. its got a 866mbps backhaul (router-satellite connection), an 866mbps front haul (5ghz band), and a 400mbps front haul (2.4ghz band).
I'd stick with the cm1000 and buy a regular orbi rbk50 set rather than go with a combo device. The problem with combo devices is that it puts the isp in control of the firmware and how often it gets updated.

I appreciate the response. I'll stick with what I have. The CM1000 and the Orbi system RBK50.

Re: Orbi CBR40 VS Nighthawk CM1000
The CBK40 is rated for 900Mbps. I tested at some point with my ISP about a year ago. However some ISPs require DOCSIS 3.1 modems for 1Gb official support.
