Access Control in Orbi Android app not working

About two weeks ago, the Access Control feature in the Android app for Orbi stopped working correctly. 

When that has happened in the past, I was able to correct it by rolling back the firmware in our Orbi router and two satellites. Didn't work this time. The firmware automatically updates to the latest version.

Our router is a RBR50 and the satellites are RBS50. Firmware version is V2.7.3.22.

How do I turn off automatic firmware updates and fix this issue?

As far as I know, users have no ability to keep Orbi from updating firmware.  It seems that Netgear is releasing new firmware in batches, possibly by serial number. Once 2.7.3.22 has been loaded, any time older firmware is loaded manually, it will return to 2.7.3.22 the next night.

They have not got to me (yet), and I am definitely not happy about the prospects.
