Assign devices to specific frequency?? In the ORBI router software, how to assign to frequency?
Is there way in the ORBI router software to assign specific devices to either the 2.4 or the 5.0 frequency? Have some devices that require 2.4 only and will never work with 5.0. If not possilble in the RBR50, which other ORBI routers allow this type assignment of each device? Am told my problems are because it is a mesh network, related to Mitsubishi Kumo Cloud WiFi. Thanks

No. The device conducts a dialog with the WiFi access point(s) and then the device decides which access point it want to use. If the device requires 2.4G WiFi, that is because the radio chip in the device can only detect 2.4G WiFi. It cannot detect 5G WiFi.
Imaging a product says, "requires (2) AA batteries" and you have a drawer full of batteries: C-cells, D-cells, 9-volts, car batteries, AAA batteries, but no AA batteries. Can you power the device? No. No AA batteries, no juice.
Is this the product:

The user reviews seem to indicate that other customers face the same issue. This is almost always because when the vendor selected a WiFi "solution" for their product, the smartphone app is poorly written.
The post indicates that this is an Orbi RBR50, which means that you can temporarily "hide" the 5G WiFi channel, connect the device, and then restore 5G.
i.e. these steps:
- On the Orbi web interface (http://orbilogin.net) navigate to the Advanced Tab, Advanced Settings (bottom), Advanced Wireless settings.
- Uncheck the box, "Broadcast SSID" on the 5G channel.
- Click "Apply".
- On the smartphone, go into network settings and "forget" the Orbi WiFi.
- From the list of available WiFi networks, select the Orbi, enter the password, and connect.
- Use the smartphone app to connect the device.
- After the device is successfully connected, reverse the steps.
- Check the box, "Broadcast SSID"
- On the phone, "forget" and connect again.
