Brand new orbi tri set, None of the satellites connect

Hi Guys,

just got my nice set of expensive Orbi's and they dotn seem to work .. ever.

Followed the instructions 100's of times now and nothing.

The router works, It connects, wifi is great but none of the satellites connect.

All i can find online is "MOVE THEM CLOSER"

Ive got them next to eachother now and they dont work!

I get the pulsing white on everything, press sync, etc and eventually , boom, magenta. No connection.

The App and the System in the browser all show connection failed.

What one earth can I do to get these damn things connect?

Im out of ideas?

Netgear dont appear to have support.

I guess its all going back in the box and refunded at this rate.

Any help would be greatly appreachated.

Whats painful is im actually a network engineer by trade and this is insane!

Re: Brand new orbi tri set, None of the satellites connect

1. Please connect to Orbi using a browser on your computer by going to orbiligin.com.

Go to "Attached Devices", do you see your Satellite there? If you see it as "Disconnected" you should see a button beside it saying "Forget" or something similar. Please click that button and try the "add new satellite" procedure again.

2. Please check the Daisy Chain settings in your router by going to >> ADVANCED >> Advanced Setup >> Wireless Settings

Please toggle this setting and see if that will help

Good luck 🙂

Also, when working with these trying to get a fix, don't put them next to each other. Within 20 feet you could have problems. Thirty feet is better. What @ekhalil said makes sense. Remove satellites if you can see them as disconected. Enable daisy chain and let Orbi work out the best configuaration before trying to sync your satellites. If you do not see them at all, factory reset and start from scratch.

Re: Brand new orbi tri set, None of the satellites connect

What FW is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too?

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet is recommended in between them to begin with depending upon building materials.

What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?
What WPA security modes are you using?

Try disabling the following and see:
MIMO, Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).

If you updated to recent FW v.210, try enabling Daisy Chain. Some have mentioned that this seems to be working in reverse order, enabling means disabled actually.

Also if the system was updated to v210, please do a full factory reset on the Orbi router and satellites and set up from scratch.
