Can not bring up websites by clicking on links in emails

I just had my Orbi set up and when i click on a link in a email or on a web page 30%  of the time i get a message that says 404 not available, 404 not secure or  401 not unauthorized. I call my internet provider and was told that i need to give them my I P address and the start ports and end ports. I have been unable to get any help from Netgear and was hopeful that someone could help me in finding where these numbers and or letters are. Thanks, Joe

You see that a lot when you're running in a double nat.

What modem do you have it connected to? (model)

firmware on the orbi?

Re: Can not bring up websites by clicking on links in emails

If this is a new Orbi, Netgear provides 90 days of "complimentary support" which can be access from the Netgear registration web page.

What device is being used for email (and clicking on URLs)?

What is the default web browser?  The most current web browsers are trying to push users away from "insecure" (i.e. http://) web sites toward "secure" (https://) web sites.  My impression is that some web browsers automatically search for the URL as https:// without even asking.  When they cannot find an https version of the URL, they often throw up an error message, "This web site is insecure. Go Back." and the user has to click on a link somewhere on the error page and say, "Go to the site anyway." (and quit bugging me)

If it is not sensitive, could you post one of these URL's for others to try?
