Change login name from "admin"
I would like to change the login name on my 3 Orbis from "admin". I understand there's no way to do this from the GUI. If I change these config variables from telnet, will that work, and will they stick across reboots?
root@OrbiRouter:/# config show | grep admin
admin_userGuest=guest guest guest guest guest 0
http_loginname=admin
http_username=admin
admin_userAdmin=admin admin admin admin admin 1

I have the same question as you. Did you find a way to change “admin” login name?

No. I suspect that changing the 3 config variables would work, but I am afraid to try it for fear something will go wrong and I won't be able to log in.

Re: Change login name from "admin"
Why not try it, if it doesn't work, then you can factory reset the router and go back to defaults...
