Change wifi setting for router but not satellite?
I had a thread previously under: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi/Orbi-RBK50-Speeds-Drop/m-p/1955406
Still experiencing issues and after rearranging my set up, I learned something new. When connect straight to the main RB50, I can't get more that 40 Mbps after it's all on and running for a few days. The satellites still give me full speed. Is there any settings I can adjust for the single main router, or can I turn it's wifi off entirely and just use the satellites? Looking at the orbilogin.net portal to me it looks like I can only change settings for the whole system. Pretty expensive system to just use 2/3 of it, but running of of ideas and cares to give.

No. All settings apply to the entire system. Router and satellites all use the same WiFi channels (2.4G and 5G) and all follow the same "Transmit Power" setting.

Can you explain how this is managed? Ethernet or WiFi?

Re: Change wifi setting for router but not satellite?
and didn't make a difference. First ISP was giving me 150 Mbps over coax, now getting 940 Mbps over fiber.
The satellites give me 400-500Mbps down and 200+ Mbps up over wifi, but if connected to the main router, can only get 40 Mbps down and up.

It has happened over probably 3-4 firmware versions over almost exactly one year. I did just update it again last night and will check speeds later, but hopes are not high. I've tried factory resets, set it up from scratch I think 2 times now. I have a feeling it's hardware related somehow because nothing I've changed has impacted it. Restart it and it seems fine, but next day and it's back to capping things at 40 Mbps up and down
ok...bye
good luck

Re: Change wifi setting for router but not satellite?
What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.

What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

Try enabling Beamforming and MIMO(MIMO may or may not be needed) and WMM. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings
Not seen on Orbi AX.
Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Circle, Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Set Short preamble instead of Long preamble modes. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).
