Connecting an RBR50 & RBS50 ac3000 network to a ac2200 RBR40 and RBS40 network

I have paired the RBR50 with the RBS50 satellite and it works great, however I have an extension that does not carry the signal. I'm wondering whether I can make use of a spare RBR40 router and RBS40. Can I
1) connect the RBR40 to the RBS50 satellite via an ethernet cable and then pair the rbs40 to the RBR40 satellite using the same SSID as a daisy chain of sorts? Hopefully I'll have a main ac3000 network and an ac2200 using the same SSID
2) Pairing the RBS40 to the RBR50 isn't an option as it be slower than the RBS50 at the same range... So should I connect the RBR40 to the RBR50 router (the RBR50 connected to the modem) via ethernet cable and then pair the RBS40 to the RBR40

Or another option. What's best? Thanks everyone.

Do you need both RBR40 and RBS40 devices?

I think you could just connection your RBS50 to your RBS40 via ethernet.

I have heard that it is best to pair your satellites via wifi first, and then connect them via cable.  So pair or sync your RBR50 to your RBS40 via wifi.  Then connection your 40 satellite to your 50 satellite.

That is what I would try.

What do you mean by having an extention that doesn't carry the signal?

Thanks I assume you mean connect both routers rbr40&50 by ethernet and pair the RBR40 satellite with the RBS40 satellite. You can't connect satellites they only pair with the router

Yes the satellite is at the fringes of that range. I'm looking at any daisy chaining options linking to the ac3000 RBR50/RBS50 network using rbr40/rbs40 (on ac2200). Thanks

I am saying to try:

RBR50 - wifi - RBS50 - cable - RBS40

No clue if it will work - but I would try it if I had that kind of run and hardware on hand.

You will need to pair the RBS40 to the RBR50 via wifi first; however, once you go ethernet/cable the connection between the two satellites will be at the speed of the switches in the satellites no?  The RBS50 is gig.  I am assuming the RBS40 is gig?

AC2200 is incompatible with AC3000 so an RBS40 can only be paired to the RBR40. But would RBR50>RBS50>RBR40 via ethernet>RBS40 work?
