i bought the orbi AC2200 system RBR20 and i was wondering if i can use RBR40 router with the RBS20 satellites/

It should. The rbr40 should pair with the rbs20

Yes RBR40 pair with RBS20s. Some kits come with this configuration.

My Setup (Cable 900Mbps/50Mbps)>CM1100>Orbi RBK50 and XR450 to Orbi RBK852(AP Mode)
Additional NG HW: C7800/CM1100/CM1200, Orbi CBK40, Orbi RBK852, R7800, R7960P, EX7500/EX7700, XR450 and WNHDE111
