Hi,
so I have a ORBI RBR20 booster set. Router set up with the cable to the modem. The app says I have between 500-750 mbps Internet when measured from the router. So, the internet connection going in seems good.
My computer is connected to Satelite 2, which is connected to Satelite 1, which is connected to the router. Information obtained from the
When I measure my internet speed from my computer it slows down and varies. Max 120 down to 80. It's connected on 5GHz.
I found out that the band the 5 GHz can't be set to automatic, so I tried all bands and it's now set to 44 because this gave the best results. In the advanced settings I found that it says "Bands: 36+40+44(P)+48. Which probably means it's now only set to a preference frequency but it will choose the least crowded one.
5G mode is set to 866.7 MBps.
During testing there's only one device connected and active, namely my computer.
I tested my internet speed from my computer through the site of my provider:
https://www.ziggo.nl/speedtest
So, does anyonre know why the speeds go down so far?

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
I
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.

What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

Try enabling Beamforming and MIMO(MIMO may or may not be needed) and WMM. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings
Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Circle, Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Set Short preamble instead of Long preamble modes. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).

Re: Great internet connect, Poor Wifi
You can find other diagnosis steps in the community faq: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi-AX/Community-FAQ-My-Orbi-speeds-are-slow-inconsistent-and-don-... MBps is the theoretical maximum of the connection and not what you're really going to experience, but you should be able to get well above 80-100 Mbps. Isolate to whether this is a connection issue with a specific device, or a specific satellite, etc.
