Have Orbi - want to use Nighthawk for backup and media server

Hi,

I'm very pleased with the better coverage of my new Orbi system.  However I'm missing the features of media server and ReadyShare backup which this doesn't offer.  I do have my Nighthawk which this system replaced.  Is there a way I can hook it up so it can continue to provide those functions without competing or usurping Orbi?  If you know what I should do, please let me know.  Specific steps are really welcomed!

You could hook up the nighthawk again and put the orbi into AP mode and hook it into the nighthawk then you would still have the great wifi coverage and the features of your old router.

Thanks for the info.  Quick question - does it defeat the advantage of the Orbi system to set it as an Access Point?

No you would still get the same wifi coverage and you may want to disable the wireless on the Nighthawk when doing this so you do not get wifi interference.

You need to log into the router go to Advanced-Advanced Setup-Wireless settings  and then uncheck the 2.4 and 5ghz boxes that say Enable wireless radio.
