I doubt it's fixed with 2.5.1.8

What is the mfr and model# of the ISP modem/ONT that the Orbi router is connected too?

Swap LAN cables between the modem/ONT and Orbi RBR. CAT6 is recommended.

I would update to v16, factory reset and setup from scratch.

It's a Huawei Echolite I believe.  If I update to that version and factory reset, can I restore from a config backup or literally have to go through the full setup again?

Re: If you are having "dropouts" with 2.5.1.8 firmware please read

Does this modem have a built in router and wifi? If so, This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
https://kb.netgear.com/30187/How-to-fix-issues-with-Double-NAT
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop

It's recommended to reset and setup form scratch. See if the problem still happens. You can apply the config file and test as well after the reset. If it happens use the backup config after the reset, it would need another reset and setup from scratch with out loading the backup config file to see if the problem happens again.

Thanks for the detailed response. No, the modem is just a modem. No wireless/router.

Re: If you are having "dropouts" with 2.5.1.8 firmware please read

Ok just checking the modem config.

Have the ISP check the signal and line quality UP to the modem.
Be sure there are not coax cable line splitters in the between the modem and ISP service box.
Be sure your using good quality RG6 coax cable up to the modem.

Try the reset and setup from scratch after updating to v16.

Related, I want to upgrade to 2.5.1.16 and I'm seeing file not found.  Did they pull the update?

Others are reporting having good Circle operation with v16 FW loaded. Something you might give a try.

switching off daylight saving definitely works, no more dropouts, no more intrrupted VOIP calls, no more dropped video conference. incomprehensible that NETGEAR PUTS UP WITH SO MUCH REPUTATIONAL DAMAGE JUST BECAUSE SOME PROGRAMMER DOESNT WANT TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR AN OBVIOUS GLITCH.

Hmmm haven't seen this with mine. Daylight savings is enabled. Could be something else...that is effecting DST...

I don't have any drop outs with DST enabled. However I'm on v2.5.1.16 as well.

Did you re-enabled it to see if the drop outs continued?

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

Do you mean theCBR40? This would be a Orbi modem with built in router...The RBR is just a wifi router, no modem.

RBR40 is the international version of the CBR40. The CBR40 is only sold in the US market but Netgear operates internationally as well. Like the CBR40 the RBR40 is one of the few models with an integrated router. You can easily check out the models on the Netgear.com pages, if it interest you.

The RBR is just a router only, no modem. ALL RBRs are just wifi routers. No modem.

No RBR40 is the router in the system, nothing gained by repeated what is false: https://www.netgear.com/images/datasheet/orbi/RBK44.pdf
