Re: Is RBS10 compatible with RBR50
I think not. Sorry. Would love for someone to purchase an RBS10 from Amazon to "find out for sure." There are several aspects of the "10" systems that appear to be incompatible with other Orbi's. Such as:
- No ethernet port, so it is impossible (ever) to set up wired backhaul
- It is "dual band" rather than "tri band". Both the user and backhaul 5G use the same channel
- The 5G channel is fixed and cannot be changed by the user.
Sort of "sucks big time" since the RBS10 is (a) relatively inexpensive and (b) readily available.

Re: Is RBS10 compatible with RBR50
More information:
Notice the Product Data Sheet for the RBS20 "What do I need for Orbi to work" says "Requires RBR20, RBR40, RBR50 Sold separately"
https://www.netgear.com/images/datasheet/orbi/RBS20.pdf
Whereas the Product Data Sheet for the RBS10 says "Existing Orbi router RBR10"
https://www.netgear.com/support/product/rbs10.aspx#docs
Not exactly "In your face", but pretty definitive.
