Mixing RBR50 with RBS50 and RBS20

Mixing RBR50 with RBS50 and RBS20

I understand that if use wireless backhaul and I mix RBR50 with an RBS20 then the backhaul of the entire system will drop to 866Mbs. So my RBS50 will also have a backhaul of only 866Mbs. 

 

My question is if I used wired backhaul for the RBS20 and wireless backhaul for the RBS50 will I then get the full 1733Mbs backhaul for RBS50?

The connection rate doesn't fall to 866 for the RBS50. Only the RBS20. 

 

You can mix the RBS connections. 1733Mbps is the connection rate for the RBS50 when wireless conencted. 

Disable Daisy Chain on the RBR.

Thanks for the fast reply.

 

Am I right in thinking though that if I use the RBS20 with wifi backhaul that it would slow the RBS50 down to 866Mbs backhaul? i.e. I will only get the full backhaul on the RBS50 of 1733Mbs if I wire up the RBS20.

That is the maximum possible backhaul rate.  If they were both in the same room, you might get that.  As they move farther apart, the rate drops.  If you telnet into the Orbi router and type the command "satelliteinfo  wifi", you will see the actual backhaul rate.  On my system, for example, where the satellite is about 25ft. away through several walls, I get this:

This is one reason that wired (ethernet) backhaul is almost always superior to 5G WiFi backhaul.  There is very little "overhead" in ethernet, whereas WiFi loses quite a bit of capacity to overhead.
