Multiple internet issue with ORBI

Hi all, in the past month i started having multiple issues with ORBI tried multiple things but nothing worked.

1) When i stream (video / calls) other services disconnect (e.g. Email browsing). If i connect and reconnect it works for brief time
2) cannot download apps on Entratainment devices. I tried to change DNS to Google but not working
3) Internet speed is capped at 30MBPS both on WIFI and Ethernet. However if i use the XFINITY router/modem it works at correct speed (120 MBPS)

I did all the traditional things i found on other posts:

1) Factory Reset
2) Set Channel to 1 or 6 for 2.4 Ghz
3) Enable /disable the different options on the ORBI set up page (e.g. enable MIMO, beamforming..)

i was thinking it looks like more a ISP issue, but everything work perfectly with XFINITY router/modem.
Help appreciated

Re: Multiple internet issue with ORBI

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too? If there is a built in router and wifi here, This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
https://kb.netgear.com/30187/How-to-fix-issues-with-Double-NAT
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop

What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected. https://kb.netgear.com/000036466/How-far-should-I-place-my-Orbi-satellite-from-my-Orbi-router

Re: Multiple internet issue with ORBI

Thanks i ll start answering some questions at my best knowledge. Let me know if it is sufficient.

1) Firmware V3.5.12_1.0.8
2) I am connecting the ORBI Router/Modem CBR40 directly to the cable wall outlet. I am not connecting the ORBI Router/Modem to any XFINITY Modem. This should avoid the double NAT right?

3) Right now i disabled all the Satellites and testing the connectivity basically at 1 foot from the main ORBI Router.

You say you are connecting directly to the wall plug. Is it COAX or Network cable?

What model Xfinity modem do you have? Double NAT is going to depend what's on the other end of the wall cable.

Re: Multiple internet issue with ORBI

Ok, I didn't see the model listed. I thought you had a RBK system.  Sorry about that.

Let us know how it goes wtih out the RBS on line.

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?

What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

Try enabling Beamforming and MIMO(MIMO may or may not be needed) and WMM. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings

Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Circle, Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Set Short preamble instead of Long preamble modes. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).

1) using COAX
2) understood. if i get it correctly, since i am in a townhome I am still connected with the centralized Xfinity MODEM (which i dont know the number and model but i can figure it out ), i might still have a double NAT issue. Correct?

No, if a townhome complex, Xfinity should have a centralized tap requiring an ISP type DOCSIS modem, (your Xfinity), which your Orbi is.

Did you contact Xfinity to register the Orbi when you intstalled it? Most ISPs require it, in order to configure the DOCSIS modem portion of your modem/router for IP, DNS and Plan speed.

Re: Multiple internet issue with ORBI

Yes i Did. for context. everything was working fine until a month ago. Problems started 1 month ago and multiple Xfinity technician came to try to fix it. However they stop working as soon as everything work when they switch from my ORBI to the Xfinity modem/router
