Netgear ORBI drops when wired to PS5 and XboX
Happens every day
Ps5 is wired
Firmware is the latest v 2.7.2.102
Modem is ARRIS SURFboard SB6183
PS does not have WiFi broadcast
It also happens with the Xbox which is also wired.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've never had this issue before. worked fine with PS4 Pro

Re: Netgear ORBI drops when wired to PS5 and XboX
Does this happen with both consoles are online or either one online?
What are other devices doing when this happens? Anyone else streaming or downloading anything?
Are the consoles wired directly behind the RBR?
What CAT# cables are you using? CAT6 is recommended.
What is your ISP speed package UP and DOWN that you pay for?
How many RBS are being used?

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last update?

Re: Netgear ORBI drops when wired to PS5 and XboX
Something to try and see, turn off the satellites and just run the RBR alone.
Might set up a IP address reservation for both consoles on the RBR.
You can try and set NAT Filter to OPEN and see if this does anything.
I've loaded v102 on mine and have two xbox 1s and will be checking mine out this evening. I don't have a PS or new X series.
This just happening after you got the PS5 wants to point to something on the console causing problems though....

Re: Netgear ORBI drops when wired to PS5 and XboX
So under Advanced Tab/Setup/LanSetup.
Select the Add button, this will show you a list of devices that you can give a IP address reservation too, select the console to add, scroll to the bottom of that page to be sure the info is correct, then select ADD. Do this for both consoles. Then select Apply on the LAN setup page. The RBR should reboot here.
NAT Filter is here under Internet Setup:

Re: Netgear ORBI drops when wired to PS5 and XboX
FYI, I we gamed last nite with two xbox ones running behind the RBR in router mode v102 loaded. Zero issues while gaming. v102 seems solid at this point.
Hope you found something with your PS5...

Re: Netgear ORBI drops when wired to PS5 and XboX
Is the consoles connected to the RBR? Even though there turned off, they maybe still semi on as some have a low sleep mode. Xbox has intstant ON. Not sure if PS has anything like this.
Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?

Re: Netgear ORBI drops when wired to PS5 and XboX
I shut the systems off completely to make sure that the rest modes on both consoles weren't the issue.
I did do a factory reset since the firmware but thought maybe i should rename the network in the event that there is a ghost in the machine - so that all of my devices don't automatically reconnect when the systems come back online?
I have the RBR, the RBS and the wall plug in in the baby's room.
I unplugged everything and was having some issues with the RBR connecting to the RBS yesterday initially. I'm assuming I have to do a reset on all three? and then plug them all in in the same room?
(Ive never had an issue with this system, ugh)

Re: Netgear ORBI drops when wired to PS5 and XboX
So the RBR is failing or stopping even with out the consoles connected?
Well you might downgrade FW to v16 load just the RBR, factory reset and setup from scratch. I would turn OFF the RBS's and just run the RBR alone to check for any failures:

Re: Netgear ORBI drops when wired to PS5 and XboX
it started failing with v. 2.3 - as my orbi had stopped auto updating and that's how i realized i had old FW.
I will try to go backwards to 2.5.1 but for how long? I won't be able to get much of a signal in the back of the apartment 😞

Re: Netgear ORBI drops when wired to PS5 and XboX
Just see if the RBR fails at any point with out the consoles connected then With the consoles connected. I would power OFF the ISP modem as well for 30 seconds then back on after you do the factory reset.
Don't enable Armor or Circle.
Might tune the RBR using following:

• Yes! WiFi 7 is backwards compatible with other Wifi devices? Learn more
