What does the Orbi administrative interface say about the laptop?

(web interface "Attached Devices" page or Orbi "app" Device Manager)

Can you be more specific? Hw is the Envy connected? What device is your Orbi router connected to? Do you have internet from any other device?

Check Network settings in Windows.

Run the Network troubleshooter. These things are often traced back to the wifi client rather than the wifi source.

Agree, right-click on the network icon in the bottom right of your bottom taskbar and select "Troubleshoot problems".

If that doesn't resolve the issue, we need to first figure out if it is connectivity to the router or DNS.

  1. Win-R and run "cmd".
  2. "ipconfig" - Find the IP address for Default Gateway (mine is 192.168.1.1)
  3. "ping [gateway_ip]" (mine is "ping 192.168.1.1") - Does the ping get a valid reply or does it hang and then say something like "Request timed out"?
  4. "ping www.amazon.com" - Does the ping get a valid reply or does it say "Ping request count not find host ..." (indicates a DNS issue)
