ORBI RBR/RBS50 sporatic latencies between hosts on the same wifi lan FW V2.5.1.8
lately connectivity has been not so smooth, i started noticing periodic short hangs using remote screens between computers on the same wifi lan at home. AT&T Wifi also gets pretty bad receptions, aud...

Two additional diagnostic steps might be:
- Look at how congested the WiFi space is, especially the 5G "backhaul" channel between the Orbi router and satellite.
Most WiFi analyzer programs (Android, Windows) will show how many access points are on each channel and the perceived signal level. The "backhaul" channel will hav no SSID (hidden), and is often on channel 157 in the US. - Telnet into the Orbi router and type this command:
satelliteinfo wifi
That will show the "link rate" between router and satellite. For example my Orbi shows this:
{
"mac address" : "A0:04:60:0D:96:FA",
"hop" : "1",
"bridge mac" : "A0:04:60:0D:96:FA",
"backhaul conntype" : "5GHz",
"backhaul rssi" : "-67",
"backhaul macaddress" : "A0:04:60:0D:96:FD",
"backhaul phytxrate" : "975",
"backhaul phyrxrate" : "1170",
"backhaul parentmac" : "A0:04:60:1C:02:39"
}

Thanks much! The command on mine showed the following line with "rate"
"backhaul phytxrate" : "1733",
"backhaul phyrxrate" : "1560",
May i assume these numbers look healthy?
Thanks!

I am also seeing some abnomalies.
On IOS app, both RBR50 and RBS50 were shown with green status and connected. In the web UI, however, shows connected satellite = 1, backhaul status "Disconnected"
Given satelliteinfo wifi command returned stats and IOS app is shown with green status, i am guessing this would be a Web UI bug?

Considering that 1733 is the maximum theoretical transmission rate, these numbers appear "better than good". They are certainly higher than my numbers.

I did quite a few "ping tests" last fall and noticed that some of my devices did much worse than others. My old Acer laptop (which I converted to Mint Linux) had horrible ping spikes that my Raspberry Pi's and Lenovo Windows laptop did not.
What are you using to test ping latency?
