ORBI RBR50 firmware 2.3.5.34

Hi, I logged into my RBR50 router as admin via my laptop to check for firmware updates.  It is showing it is at 2.3.5.30 and that no new updates are available.  I see a Hot Fix 2.3.5.34 on the Netgear site, for the RBR50, which is supposed to update the https certificate.  Why is that not considered an update to be installed?  Should I try to install it manually?  Thank you.

NG is giving you the option to update to v34 from there web site download page. Users choice to upgrade or not. If the web browser certificate warnings bother you then you can manually download the FW files and manually install them to the RBS first then RBR. Factoy reset the RBR and setup from scratch to ensure the FW installation seats well. If your not bothered by the browser warning when you go the RBRs web page then you can keep whats loaded and wait fo the next full FW update to appear in the RBRs FW update web page section or again, manually download FW files and install them manually your self. I use this method for when I update my systems. Helps avoid mose problems seen after some FW updates.

Also be sure to do a backup configuration to file of your RBR for safe keeping.

If your network is working, leave it alone.  Updates with major revisons (which you NEED as opposed to beta test) will be pushed automatically.  No action on your part.

I, also, am waiting to see how "34" fares before considering it.  As an "aside", it appears that this SSL certificate issue is more complicated than I had originally thought.  There have been posts that Netgear updated the Cert to one that they "self-signed" instead of purchasing from a trusted authority.  Thus, modern browsers continue to complain that it cannot be "trusted".  So, a fix, but not a "fix".  And, modern browsers complain that the default Orbi web interface is "http" rather than "https", saying that it "is not secure."  It makes my head spin.
