ORBI RBR50 multiple wifi disconnection

Hi All,

i am having some issues with RBR50 every few hours my wifi is diconnect for a few secondes and return back

I thought that the problem was with the RBS50 so i disconnect it and i was still getting wifi disconection from the RBR50

i am on the lateset FW and i already did restore to factory default and it didn't help

i don't know what to do next i tried everything i can think off

i don't want to replace my very expensive router RBK50 but i am really frustrated from this situation and dont know what to do

the person that will help me will gain eternal life 🙂

Thanks a lot

Re: ORBI RBR50 multiple wifi disconnection

It always helps if you state which FW version you're on and how you came upon it.  Meaning, did you manually do the update or let NG push it to you automatically?

In this forum there are several postings of unsettled FW versions and in most cases, the user upgraded on their own which resulted in having to roll back to the previous versions.

One other item,...you may have others post here and suggest you try this and that.  If you have the time that's fine, however, if your system was working before the FW update, then chances are the new FW is the cause of your problems.  The choice is yours.

Re: ORBI RBR50 multiple wifi disconnection

What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too?

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected. https://kb.netgear.com/000036466/How-far-should-I-place-my-Orbi-satellite-from-my-Orbi-router

What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

Try enabling Beamforming and MIMO(MIMO may or maynot be needed) and WMM. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings

Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Circle, Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).

My RBK50 is working on with the above suggestions and on v2.5.1.8.

My experience with V2.3.5.30 is that it's fairly stable.  I've been running it since Oct 2019. If you've made no changes to your network, my recommendation is to try and roll your FW back to a previous version and in the future do NOT perform manual FW updates.  When your system NEEDS an update NG will push it to you, no action required on your part.  If that version causes problems then you can't blame yourself.

Or......you can play the guessing game (dozens of question that many have nothing to do with your problem) as suggested by other posts here.  The choice is yours.  Have fun!
