ORBO (RDR50) no internet after upgrade to CM2050V

I upgraded my modem from CM500 to CM2050V. I thought it would be simple - called Xfinity and gave them the MAC adress. After they added the device, I rebooted CM2050V and RDR50.
I looked at the ORBI and it says 'no internet connection'. I asked Xfinity if they had the right MAC address and they assured me that the did. They said there was a setting in the ORBI and that I need to call Netgear.
Is there any setting in the ORBI that would prevent this upgrade? I could do a factory reset on the ORBI but I'll lose all of my settings.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any help.
Dave

Try this.
Power off the modem and the router and disconnect everything from both. (even coax from modem)
then connect the coax back to the modem and power it on.
Wait 2 minutes.
Then connect the lan cable from modem to wan port on router.
Power the router on and give it 2 minutes.
then try to go though the internet setup process on the router.
If that doesn't work, follow the same procedure but connect a pc/laptop to the modem instead of the router.
make sure the modem is working and that it was provisioned correctly.
