Orbi AC 2200 12V/1.5A power adapters replacement (need: 220V 50hz)

I have the AC2200 RBK23. Just realized it does NOT have dual voltage power adapters (wall plugs). Can anyone recommend a 220V 50hz replacement? Thank you!

Additionally: Specs on power adapter are: Input: 110-120V 50/60Hz .6a | Output: 12v 1.5a

I would contact NG support regarding this.

Thanks, I'm trying that avenue. Waiting on a response.

Any generic adapter works as long as it has the right volts and enough amps, along with the correct tip and polarity.

Sometimes these things tell porkies. The label says one thing but the device knows better.

People have take their life into their hands and tested the thing at the "wrong" voltage. Only to discover that it works for some Netgear adapters. I wouldn't know about your adapter. Maybe someone else has tried it.

I doubt if support can help. Netgear doesn't sell spare adapters. Third party suppliers are all over the place.

I think I found a workable option if anyone is looking: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HNL5D56/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A14FP9XIRL6C1F&psc=1

Looks good.

Is that the Netgear tip size?

If so, thanks for the information. I have been trying to track down those dimensions. Netgear's manuals seem to be silent on that bit of the specifications.

I usually go for something with exchangeable tips.

Remember, if you leave the USA you will need an adaptor.

We measured everything (inluding the tips - 2.1mm * 5.5mm Center Positive Barrel Plug) and checked the electrical stats. As far as I can tell with everything online, it should be identical.

We use multiplug extension cords/adapters and voltage regulators for so many things overseas, so we should be set with an adapter. But yes...otherwise, an adapter would be required.

Did that power adapter work? I am same situation. All my previous Netgear products were dual voltage. I ordered a new EX7700 extender and its says 120v 50/60hz 12v 1.5A. Most all transformers are dual voltage these days WTF Netgear?

Has it arrived yet? Where did you order from?

Netgear has started to supply 100-240 volt adapters, but there are still too many old ones out there.

Some people have found that the labels on adapters are not accurate. They say 100-120V but they actually handle 100-240V. Might be down to legal requirements in the USA.

I just got it today and it says 120v 50/60hz. Check out the picture

Also I ordered from Amazon about a week ago.

You didn't say who supplied it.

A local source should provide the right adapter.

Your photo tells us nothing about the prongs.

That tells us not much.

Amazon is a big company.

And where are you?

Europe, ordered from USA, can't say more on that. Standard USA plug. See image, 2.1 and 5.5mm jack

In that case it is down to buying a generic adapter, unless you are willing to sacrifice the one that came with it to see if it would work.

Netgear does not sell replacement power adapters. Any generic adapter will work, as long as it has the right volts, enough amps and a tip with the right (+/-) polarity and dimensions.

This seems to be the Netgear standard:

By the way, buying from the USA can cause problems. You may find that your extender is locked down in the wifi frequencies and power that you can use. They have different regulations there.

I have some locked down Orbi kit. I works fine, but be prepared to troubleshoot possible conflicts.

Rolled the dice and plugged in. Checked with multimeter and amp clamp. 12.12 vdc 1.4 amps. Says 120vac 50/60hz but is working on 230vac 50hz.

Yes, it appears to work fine. I've not totally set it up yet, but it appears to power the unit normally.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I have been waiting for some madcap experimentalist/gambler to try that.

It has always struck me as odd for Netgear to commission someone to run separate production lines to make adapters. Much easier, and probably cheaper, to churn out the same thing and slap on a local label.

Re: Orbi AC 2200 12V/1.5A power adapters replacement (need: 220V 50hz)

My system is 1 X RBR20 and 3 X RBS20, purchased through Amazon in the United Kingdom. I spoke directly to Netgear's technical department here in the UK and they advised that although the labels on each of the adapters states 240V only, they are in fact dual voltage and can be used in 110 or 120V environments. With this information in mind, I travelled to Brazil (120V) where I live much of the time and installed the system there. I can happily report that the system works perfectly, all four adapters, in a 120V environment and has been doing so for over four months now with no problems.

You are a brave soul :). I wish they would have been properly labeled. I wasted a lot of time looking for replacements and selling the originals :(.
