Orbi AC3000 and AC1750 Router/modem compatibility
Hi I need help installing the Orbi system.
When we bought the system I complelty forgot that we have a modem/router combo. I tired to connect the orbi yesterday but it complains of not beiing compatible, and the satelites don't come up at all.
We bought the Orbi system to get better coverage in the house, and hopefully faster WiFi. Is this realistic, and if so do i have to buy a new modem or can i somehow use my maybe 5year old AC1750?
Thanks a lot for your suggestions in advance!

Re: Orbi AC3000 and AC1750 Router/modem compatibility
Modem Combo Units:
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, LAN to LAN and configure AP mode on the Orbi router.
