Orbi AC3000 mesh network
I recently switched from DirecTv to a streaming service. I have multiple TVs running throughout the house. Some are connected to via WiFi to the cable provider's modem and othjers are connected to the Orbi Mesh network. I am seeing issues with the ones connected to the Orbi network. They tend to buffer more often than the ones that are connected directly to the cable provider's WiFi modem. Is there a special configuration that I need to add to the Orbi router to prevent this? Also, I am seeing that the router seems to lose connectivity more often now that I am using the streaming service. While the orbi router never indicates that it is rebooting, or has lost connectivity to the internet. The two satellites will turn blue or purple throughout the day.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated,
Re: Orbi AC3000 mesh network
What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too?
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected. https://kb.netgear.com/000036466/How-far-should-I-place-my-Orbi-satellite-from-my-Orbi-router
What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?
Try enabling Beamforming and MIMO(MIMO may or maynot be needed) and WMM. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings
Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Circle, Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).
My Setup (Cable 900Mbps/50Mbps)>CM1100>Orbi RBK50 and XR450 to Orbi RBK853(AP Mode)
