Every firmware available for the Orbi RBK50 package is listed here:
https://www.netgear.com/support/product/RBK50.aspx#download (Click on the "+" sign to see previous versions.)
Any of these versions can be manually loaded on the Orbi router and satellite.
No one seems to know why some versions say "for U.S. Region Only". It may have something to do with licensing the Netgear Parental Controls software. It may have do to with....(alien spaceships - probably not.) No one knows. Very frustrating.
While you are certainly able to load any version of firmware, some of us are reluctant to be "early adopters" until a significant number of posts have appeared in the forum reporting "how well it went" and there are no longer posts saying "this ruined my network and I had to revert to a previous version."

Re: Orbi RBK50 lastest Firmware
Orbi MESH sytems are a 24hour online wifi service. Wifi seems to be designed to operate all the time, and also having RBS connected, may post a problem with the RBS as well. So NG seems to design this to be online all the time for ease of use and operation.

Re: Orbi RBK50 lastest Firmware
Most non MESH routers have features to disable wifi. MESH seens to be the only one that doesn't support that feature. Even on some non NG MESH that I have tried.
