Orbi RBR20 intermittent connectivity issues

Ok, here goes nothing.  I have a Motorolla Surfboard connected to the Orbi.  I have an 8-port switch that connects to my peripheral devices near the router (TV, dvd player, xbox, printer, etc) and one sattelite in the center, second floor, of my 2-story, ~2500 sq ft house (trying to supply as much data as possible, sorry if it's TMI).

I purchased the Orbi in September-2019.  Didn't really have any issues with it initially.  I did have to do a factory reboot early on, but it was so early, I don't think it's related.  Around Christmas (2.5 weeks ago), I noticed two things (not sure how, or if, they are related) but the Xbox One wouldn't connect when hardwired (but worked on wifi...tested the ethernet cable and that wasn't it) and more frustratingly our personal laptop randomly loses connection ("No internet, secured") to the internet (connected, no internet).  My work laptop also started having similar issues around the same time so I know it's not specific to my personal laptop.  We have had no connectivity problems with our iPhones, iPad, TV, but we lost connection to the Brother printer and Xbox.

If I connect the laptop directly to the router, it has no problem and functions properly.  For whatever reason, which is what I'm trying to resolve, the laptop won't always connect to the internet.  Sometimes it'll take me 20+ minutes of switching between my primary wi-fi and guest wi-fi, and at the same time running the wifi troubleshooter (random errors, gateway not available errors, and sometimes it finds no errors at all).  Usually it wants me to reboot the modem and router (which I have done dozens of times to no avail).

As mentioned before, I have rebooted the modem/router multiple times and even did a second factory reset about a week ago.  I'm not sure what else to do and not sure what else I can provide to help the Netgear Community assist me.

I'm beyond frustrated and ready to return this system and pick up something else.  I'd prefer not, but I'm at my wits end.  I'm no IT wiz and have relied heavily on my brother's IT support (from 600 miles away, for which I owe him about $1m by now if he billed me).  Sorry for the long-winded post and thanks for the assistance/suggestions in advance.

Re: Orbi RBR20 intermittent connectivity issues

What Firmware is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too? Built in router here by chance? if so, This would be a double NAT condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
https://kb.netgear.com/30187/How-to-fix-issues-with-Double-NAT
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop

What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected. https://kb.netgear.com/000036466/How-far-should-I-place-my-Orbi-satellite-from-my-Orbi-router

What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

Try enabling Beamforming and MIMO(MIMO may or maynot be needed) and WMM. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings

Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Circle, Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?
