Orbi RBR50 Device Names not Saving

I'm using the RBR50 through my Verizon Router as an AP and I'm trying to change the device names of my connected devices to know which device is which.  Initially, when I was setting up the first few devices, I changed their names through the iOS app, and they changed (although one or two I had to do more than once for it to stick).  Now I'm attempting to finish with the last few devices and nothing I do makes the name changes stick.

I've tried through the app, but as soon as I refresh, the name and icons revert back to what they started with.  I attempted to use the browser client (both with Chrome and Edge), and I had the same problem.  In fact, almost none of my changes through the web client made any difference.  I have tried rebooting the Orbi router, to no avail.  There seems to be no corellation between the devices; they range between iPods to Computers to game consoles, both connected to the Base and to the Satellite.

I'm pulling my hair out!

I can confirm this as well with v38. Device appear and are correctly icon'd. However after editing about three items the UI seems to stop accepting changes. Using Opera on OSX 10.14.6

Re: Orbi RBR50 Device Names not Saving

The latest FW update (v2.5.0.38) re-introduced this bug, if that's the firmware you're running.  Sometimes name/icon changes work, other times they don't; sometimes names and icons randomly change between Orbi reboots.  More than annoying for OCD-me.

Re: Orbi RBR50 Device Names not Saving

I have not noticed any change in stability, although I have not really had any issues with satellites losing connectivity to the base in either wireless or wired backhaul configurations.

Please make  new post in regards to your RBS now working well and we'll help you out there as this thread is unrelated to your problem.

Same problem here. I updated today then realised something was wrong. Subsequently found this thread. There's clearly a significant bug in this update so why wasn't it pulled earlier?

Re: Orbi RBR50 Device Names not Saving

THe naming of devcies is confirmed and known and NG is aware of it. The impact of naming devices is really not a show stopper and more of an inconveience to users. Doesn't really impact operation or cause the system to fail, thus no reason to pull it.

Users will need to be patient, I presume the next FW update will have a fix.
