Orbi RBR50 Stopped Working but Satellite Is Fine

Last night Sonic, my internet provider, performed an update to their network. Everything was working fine before that. When I woke up, my router wasn't working and I had the magenta ring. After troubleshooting with Sonic, they had me test our their router that did work, I decided to try and bypass the router and just plug the satellite directly into the modem, which worked and I get my normal up/down speeds from it. Anyone have experience with this? I've tried to hard reset the router by holding the reset button and that didn't work.Obivously my bypassing the main router isn't ideal as I lose coverage and I also can't access any of my dashboard controls. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Did you happen to power OFF the ISP modem and RBR for 30 seconds, then back ON with the modem and let it sync then power on the RBR?

Sounds like your modem already has a built in router. If so, This would be a double NAT condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT

Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop

@FURRYe38 I had tried unplugging everything for 10-15 seconds and it didn't work. After reading your post I unplugged everything and took my dog for a walk. When I got back, took your advice and powered them up individually and it seems to be working now. Thank you!

What advice will we give people who don't have a dog?

Sounds like maybe unplugging everything for a bit longer maybe the key. 1 minute should suffice.

Glad you got it working.

Enjoy. Smiley Wink
