I want to "cut the cord". Currently my Orbi RBR50 is connected to the modem we rent from Xfinity. I can't figure out if I actually need to replace the Xfinity modem or if my Orbi can stand alone. If I need another modem in place of the Xfinity one, which Netgear one should I buy?
I am a "novice" when it comes to this stuff. Please forgive me!

Yes, preferibly a stand alone cable modem with out a built in router. Review NG's CM1000 modem.
