Orbi Responding as Gateway
I have a new Orbi setup with a Satelitte in AP mode. From time to time I lose connectivity to the internet on wifi devices and all wired devices to the Satellite. Looking close I noticed the Orbi router is responding to ARP for reasons I am not quite clear on.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is really driving me nuts!
Gateway: 192.168.1.1
Orbi-Router: 192.168.1.2
Orbi-Satellite: 192.168.1.3
Version: 1.11.20
Devices: ~10
Mode: AP Mode
Output from OSX/Laptop:
#### Normal and working #### $arp -an ? (192.168.1.1) at 0:ab:2a:e8:1:46 on en0 ifscope [ethernet] <== correct gateway mac ? (192.168.1.2) at b0:b9:8a:64:7e:93 on en0 ifscope [ethernet] <=== Orbi-Router in AP Mode #### Internet no longer working, ping to gateway fails #### $ping 192.168.1.1 PING 192.168.1.1 (192.168.1.1): 56 data bytes ^C --- 192.168.1.1 ping statistics --- 1 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100.0% packet loss #### ARP tables shows the Orbi-router responding to 192.168.1.1! #### $ arp -an ? Re: Orbi Responding as Gateway
Small update for anyone curious:
Factory reset did not resolve the issue! I changed my router/gateway to 192.168.1.5 and so far things are stable.
Not sure why the Orbi is doing this but it is competely breaking connectivity to the Intenret for all devices connected to it.
