Orbi Satellite Connection via Ethernet

Hey everyone. First time post. I just recently got the ORBI system along with the CM1000 for my modem. The router is in the office and the satellite is in the living room. 50 feet apart or less line of site. I ran a wired connection from the satellite to my xbox one and it keeps dropping like crazy. Cannot play any online games for more than a few minutes before being kicked out. I went to wired from wireless because I was getting the low internet message, and once I went wired I get it all the time.

It seems Orbi is flooding my house with internet, but there are times when loading Facebook on my Iphone that it can take forever to load too. Any help is appreciated, thank you very much.

Re: Orbi Satellite Connection via Ethernet

What FW is currently loaded?
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
Might try moving the satelite closer and see. Try 40 feet?

What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

Try disabling the following and see:
MIMO, Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).

Re: Orbi Satellite Connection via Ethernet

Sorry I am usually a stickler for details myself.

Latest firmware. 2.4.1.16 I believe?

1100 square feet Honesty nothing huge by any imagination. Auto for 2.4 ghz, and 48 for 5.

Quite a few wifi neigbors actually.

Where do those adjustments live in the setup menu? I may need a little explanation as to what to adjust on the settings. Such as Daisy Chain, and IPV6.  I switched the Satellite so it has a lan cable running to the Xbox. Any thoughts on that.

If you change it for the router, does the satellite get the same settings?

THANK YOU!!!!

Re: Orbi Satellite Connection via Ethernet

Under Advanced Tab, Advanced settings/Wireless Settings.

I believe IPv6 is usnder Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings...

Try the other port on the back of the satellite. I would also test the xbox wirelessly connected as well.

Making changes to router populates to satellite. I would also reboot the satellite and router as well.
