Orbi router in bridge mode over ethernet?

Orbi router in bridge mode over ethernet?

I have a main router in my house. It has a number of clients connected via ethernet cables.

I have an office in the house that does not have an ethernet cable access. It has several devices that need to be connected, but they do not have WiFi. Distance is about 30 feet.

So I want to have a WiFi bridge from the main router (which does not have WiFi) to the office.

Can I use an Orbi 2 unit set up whith the Orbi router connected by ethernet cable to my main router, and the satilite unit connected to a switch in the office with the office devices connected to the switch.

The catch is I need the Orbi to be in bridge mode so I don't have double NAT.

Will the Orbi work in this manner?

Yes. It's called access point mode on Orbi.

As @st_shaw says, just set it up as AP mode.

There is a manual for the Orbi WiFi System somewhere at the end of this link:

>>>> Orbi RBK50 | WiFi System | NETGEAR Support <<<<

Check the section Use the Router as a WiFi Access Point.

I have an R7800 wired to an Orbi base station with two satellites, an RBW30 and an RBS40V.

Thanks for the info and help.

Looks like it will do what I want it to do.

Will give it a try!
