Orbi slower than Xfiniti router

Just had our internet fixed as the outside booster was bad.  We were running 75 down and .5 up.  After the fix, did a wifi test and the xfiniti router ran at 475 down and 18 up.  Put it in bridge mode and hooked up the orbi using a Cat 6 cable.  175 down with 17 up.  Both in the same spot.  Xfinity router has always been used in bridge mode.   Any thoughts as to why?

Make a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. This saves time if a reset is needed.

Re: Orbi slower than Xfiniti router

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

Power OFF the modem and RBR for 1 minute then back ON with the modem then RBR. Wire connect a PC to the RBR and speed test.

Has Armor or Circle been enabled?

Re: Orbi slower than Xfiniti router

And you are sure the modem has been fully bridged? Not just disabling the wifi radio on the modem...this doesn't count. Smiley Wink

One thing to try out, put the ISP Modem back to router mode and then configure the RBR for AP mode. Leave the RBS OFF for now.

Re: Orbi slower than Xfiniti router

I just used the Bridge mode enable/disable button on ISP router.  Is there something else I need to do?  I did have the Orbi in router mode for wifi.  Will try it in AP mode later today and let you know.

Thanks for your help

Re: Orbi slower than Xfiniti router

Ok just checking. One other thing to do would be after the bridge mode has been enabled and applied, power OFF the modem and RBR for 1 minute then back on.

Re: Orbi slower than Xfiniti router

AP mode wouldn't work at all and I'm sure it's user error in the setup.  Updated both the Orbi (now in router mode) and satellite firmware though I thought I had it set up to update automatically.  Now it's running 450-500+ down and 13-15 up (few notches slower than the ISP router).  Did notice that more devices are connecting to the satellite than before so I'm assuming the firmware upgrade helped. Will leave well enough alone now.

Thank you for all your help and suggestions.
