QoS/WMM slows other devices to crawl

QoS/WMM slows other devices to crawl

The orbi system has been great with the exception of one thing. When a device on my network is streaming video, the orbi goes overboard in prioritizing bandwidth to that device. It seems like that device gets about 95% of the bandwidth. I turned off the WMM option for both 2.4 & 5 bands and while it's "better", it still seems excessive. This occurs with any type of device: PC, iOS, PS3, or Apple TV.

Any suggestions?

Re: QoS/WMM slows other devices to crawl

It's confusing as QOS and WMM are separate options.  WMM is on by default, and should be left on for the best speeds.  It seems you want QoS because you want some active prioritization of traffic control so that the video streaming doesn't suck away all your bandwidth.  Try going to http://orbilogin.net/QOS_main.htm and turning on QoS.  I suggest you also turn WMM back on and just try adjusting QoS and its rules to improve your fairness.

Re: QoS/WMM slows other devices to crawl

Thank you. Making adjustments to QoS has made things much better. The one thing that's concerning is that when I clicked the QoS/WMM link on the web utility, I only see basic options for WMM: on or off. I don't know how to get the the QoS page without explicitly typing the link http://orbilogin.net/QOS_main.htm
