RBK23 boot up time

Hello Community,

I recently purchased Orbi RBK23 (router and two sattelites). First observation was, that it took a bit too long to boot up. It takes around 5 minutes.

The first day when I was setting it up and when change of any parameter triggered reboot of he whole system, waiting every time for 5 minutes was very noticeable.

What is the normal boot up time for RBK23?

Is is shorter boot up time for RBR50?

Thank you! Smiley Happy

It is the latest Firmware on all units (router and two sattelites) - V2.5.1.16. I bought all few days ago. While setting all up, the firmware got updated automatically. I have not had a chance to try it with old firmware.

It is cable modem/router is Sagemcom FAST 3890 V3. I am using Orbi in a router mode.

Re: RBK23 boot up time

Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and Orbi system been performed since last update?

What mode is your modem working in? If router mode, This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT

Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop
