Re: Rbk50 speed issues

Well if you have disabled IPv6, not touched QoS, Access Controls or Traffic Meter and disabled Daisy Chain, it should be good.

Others have reported getting 900Mb on there systems before...

Re: Rbk50 speed issues

Did you attempt the FW downgrade to v16 yet?

And your getting solid 900Mb with out the Orbi online right? Direct thru the ISP device?

Re: Rbk50 speed issues

Done it last night. Currently on this ver.

Yesterday night I got every 2-4 speedtest 900~. Today 560~600 again, and checked once again with media converter of ISP is getting full 950.

Means it is ORBI, Q is what about it.

Re: Rbk50 speed issues

Possible problem in handling of higher speeds is breaking down. Something NG engineering and support need to collect some logs from you and see if they can indentify where the problem is at. I would make contact with NG support again. Have them collect the Orbi logs from you.

Re: Rbk50 speed issues

Will try in following days, when I have the time, to re flash V21, manually, and factory.

Some friends with V21 and same ISP and service dont have this issue.

Get with NG support and get some logs collected.

Worry about wireless speeds after wired is figured out.

Let us know how it goes.

Re: Rbk50 speed issues

Replied.

Sadly, the NG support did not reach back.
I start to give up, although it is considered a good product.
Not sure if the husstle worth it, in specific when NG support not reach back.
No official support.

Sadly not good.

Did you open up a support ticket here?

https://www.netgear.com/mynetgear/registration/login.aspx

And did you send a PM to

@Blanca_O ?

Re: Rbk50 speed issues

I bet it is not a defective second item, but a missing setting.

Hope they would call.
Im required to return defective older kit, but not doing it wholehearted.

For sure, my customer experience here is not as I would wish it would.

Re: Rbk50 speed issues

Did you already get a RMA? If you didn't and it's doing the same thing, then possible FW issue or problem is else where.

You don't have to return your original unit if you feel like the situation doesn't change. You can just return the 2nd RMA unit. As long as you return either unit to NG.

Be upfront with NG and do things the right way. If NG is working with you give them a chance to make the situation right.

Good Luck.

Re: Rbk50 speed issues

Got the RMA of course, installed since last friday.

My dissapointment is NG did not call back after 2 times of calling them and left messages that L2 team should call me.
It is about a week since I first contact them.

Re: Rbk50 speed issues

I would keep contact via the support ticket page to maintain contact and updates there. I did this last year and had great success. NG support always kept in contact there.

Re: Rbk50 speed issues

Finally NG support contact back.

Did not have to do much, the indian technician hold the call for about 50 min.

I have done every possibile test.

Even my FTTH infrastructure got a technician here, changed a SFP module , just to make sure.

Under ISPs router , hardwired, 950M without a doubt.

Switched back, just for a moment, the RBR to be main router, instead of ISPs. 560M top

Well, that sucks.
I have to keep ISP router (planned to return it), and use Orbi as AP only.

If anyone knows anything, I would apprecaite the tips.
I am up for any test.

Re: Rbk50 speed issues

Can you get your hands on the Orbi Beta?

https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi/Looking-for-a-select-group-of-Orbi-Community-members-that-are/...

Do you have good speeds while the Orbi is in AP mode?

Re: Rbk50 speed issues

I asked to participate, but I think somewhere over this post I have seen they stopped adding anymore testers.

Is this 2.2 FW is not latest one 2.2.10? Or really is 2.2?
Anyway I asked in, plus sent a PM to the post creator.
No luck just yet.

Did try on beginning AP mode, arround 600M tops as well.

I feel like this product is not the right fit as router, just as AP solution.
I really want to believe Im wrong, but no luck so far.
Have seen a lot of complains about it, in the community and in the entire web, but have not seen a complain that was not solved eventually.

I hope that some FW update will enevtually solve it, and have the option to disable the auto update, for good.
The trick of Telnet file edit is annoying because it temp. Day after it jusu auto update for me, twice so far.

Re: Rbk50 speed issues

Possible they might have enough testers for that. Maybe they will respond next week.

I feel that it maybe a HW issue rather then FW. Other have been able to get there systems up to 900Mb.

You would have to try another Orbi router to see. Seems like your current one is stuck and just won't go past..
